ATPDesigner

Prof Michael Igel has provided a new version of ATPDesigner realease V2.03.00.

The most important new feature is an integrated MODELS editor with syntax coloring, right mouse button menu etc

It is possible for all non-profit members of the EEUG or other ATP user groups worldwide (e.g. universities, schools, etc.) to obtain a one-year license of ATPDesigner without any limitations (license request via e-mail: michael.igel@htw-saarland.de).

ATP Draw

Updates in version 5.6 are:

Hybrid Transformer: Final slope for magnetization characteristics added (Core|Settings). New, better and faster optimization routine for the Frolich equation parameters added (Gradient based method). Core loss topology fixed; resistors and nonlinear inductors in parallel, new fitting of core loss resistances. Support of type 96 added. Correction to single point excitation test report (linear core) and shell-form cores.
$Parameters: Intermediate variables ($$) used to allow nesting. Special loop syntax added (@[a b], @FILE, @LIN, @LOG, @POW, @EXP).
New cost function model WRITEMAXMIN added. Writes single value to lis file and reads back after simulation. Supports multiple runs (PCVP) and includes a View module.
Optimization: Optimization circuit variables with Gradient Method, Genetic Algorithm, or Simplex Annealing routines. Communicates with cost function and circuit variables.
Load flow components added together with a new page on ATP|Settings.
Two new examples added: Universal machine control, Resonance earth coil tuning. Wind generator controls by Piergiovanni LaSeta added as exa_19.acp.
Increase from 21 to 24 phases in the LCC module.
BCTRAN external saturation characteristics recovered (not stored in version 5.4-5.5).
Windsyn component TACS part recognized. Use the WindSyn_ATPDraw.exe version of Windsyn.
Connections inherit Phase property.
Zooming in View nonlinear dialog (drag rectangle, right click to restore).
External characteristic in Groups fixed.
New AC source with rms and line-line scaling. 1&3 phases, grounded/ungrounded.
RLC PHASOR component.
Updated Help file system and new User Manual.

Windsyn

Gabor Furst has provided WindSynATPDraw, which is the version of WindSyn which is used in the 5.4 version of ATPDraw.

ATP Draw

Hans Kristian Høidalen has provided a new patch for ATP Draw.

This has updated the drawing module a bit, reduced flicker and improved the map window (it was very slow).

A few other bugs have also been corrected. The Verify module of LCC failed for instance since the file extension was changed to *.dat.

It corrects a serious problem when Groups where Unhidden while being marked causing the drawing to disappear.

A week point in the MakeNodeNames module was also improved that could cause an access violation error.

ATP Draw

Hans Kristian Høidalen has provided a new patch for ATP Draw. This can simply be copied on top of an older ATPDraw version 5.4. Version 5.3 and earlier can not read the project files produced by version 5.4, but version 5.4 is fully backward compatible. The new patch fixes a few errors and adds some new features as well:

The icon background (Picture) now also support Metafiles as well as Bitmaps, but only Bitmaps are rotatable. The Picture Background can be view and adjusted in the Vector Editor.
When switching from Bitmap to Vector (in the Edit definition dialog) ATPDraw now performs some automatic conversion. This is more or less straight forward from Vector to Bitmap, but for the opposite direction ATPDraw just creates a default icon.
LCC verify failed in earlier version 5.4. I changed the file extension from .atp to .dat and forgot to follow up in the Verify module. The change was triggered by the EXE_9 example that had a line model with the same name as the project which caused the ATP file of the project to be awkwardly overwritten.
New Type-94 components. The old one had wrong node connections for Norton type. In the new type header templates are added as well and the header and icon is automatically switched when changing the type of model (THEV, ITER, NORT, NORT-TR).
Model col. 80 line wrap. Writing Models code beyond col. 80 could give strange ATP results, but ATPDraw now wraps the line. This is not affected by ‘—‘ comments, which still can be after col. 80.
The help file is updated. More on Vector Editor, better organised, new pictures.
The initial condition trick for type98 and 96 nonlinear inductances was improved, but there are still fundamental problems for delta coupled elements.

Robert Meredith has supplied two programs to calculate inductances of coupled coils (coupcoils.exe) and to generate transformer models (scftran.exe).

Mingw and Linux ATP Update

A limit in a fixed array was changed.

In some cases, ATP aborted with a message as follow:

Unformatted Salford .pl4 files can be correctly read by GTPPLOT.
The command 54321 was added. It allows to pass a .pl4 filename (with extension), to process stacked STATISTICS cases with IPLOT= 54321.
After the stacked file was processed, the user can choose one by using file case.nnn, choose a variable by using #n, and plot this variable as time function, or send PCVP to plot the variable of all cases in 3-D format.

This patch fixes the following issues

Hidden connections caused problems for group node naming. Very important correction.
Lib-files from line/Cable modeling were not unpacked to the ResultDir. Also important.
Zooming with +/- keys wasn't good on American keyboards, and the numerical keypad is used instead.
Copy/Cut/Duplicate from the tools menu resulted in an error message when nothing was selected.
The unit of capacitances used the greek letter mu, but this became wrong on Chineese windows language settings and the lutter 'u' is used instead.
Leaving an empty circuit text caused problem in Undo.
The copy/paste entire data grid in the Component dialog was wrong for more than 4/5 digits.
The Numbering for cables in the View module was wrong. The cores come first then the sheaths... Cable ordering handled.
The Edit definitions in the Component dialog will not overwrite data and adjust node name positions. Cancel handled.
The node name's default position is somewhat adjusted so they are normally selectable.
